Tracy’s research explores the nature and impact of culture, language, and gender on relationships, power, privilege, access, and responsibilities. In particular, her work explores the ways individuals can move beyond socialized cultures and exclusionary mindsets to find commonality and collaborate on solutions to shared human problems.

With the increased focus on educating students to be global citizens, Learning through a PRISM offers a deeper understanding of intercultural competence and an intentional and academic approach to intercultural experiences. The PRISM challenges faculty and students to engage, interact, and create meaning in study abroad, intercultural, and global contexts.

Change Your LENS is an innovative technique for examining and understanding different perspectives in order to develop more effective intercultural interactions. This booklet explains how to apply the technique, providing information on cultural differences and communication styles and a variety of practice examples.

This book traces the existence of two ideologies, traditional femininity and resistant femininity, in language and on women’s bodies. Women’s fitness magazines draw upon these competing ideologies– portraying highly valued but traditionally male traits like strength while still being seen as traditionally feminine–in ways that ultimately still make empowerment for women seem unattainable.
